Designing for Impact – Touched By ALS Kiss My ALS Gala
Client: Touched By ALS
Industry: Non-Profit
Founded: 2022
Background
Touched By ALS is a nonprofit organization founded in 2022 with a mission to support individuals and families affected by ALS. As a newly established organization, they sought to create a strong visual presence to increase awareness, secure sponsorships, and encourage donations.
I was introduced to Touched By ALS through my friend Crystal Kahler Boje-Estes, who was diagnosed with ALS in August 2022. My first connection with the Touched By ALS team was at their kick-off event in October 2022, where I learned more about their mission and growing community.
The Challenge
In preparation for their inaugural Touched By ALS Kiss My ALS Gala in October 2024, the organization needed compelling and cohesive event graphics. They wanted to maintain their brand identity while ensuring their materials were visually striking to attract sponsors and increase donations. With a significant fundraising goal in mind, the design had to inspire action and engagement.
The Solution
To help bring their vision to life, I designed a suite of materials for the event, including:
By crafting a cohesive and dynamic event identity, the materials not only aligned with the Touched By ALS brand but also elevated the professionalism and impact of their fundraising efforts.
The Results
The Kiss My ALS Gala was an overwhelming success, surpassing expectations and raising more than $200,000 in donations. The event materials played a vital role in attracting attendees, engaging potential sponsors, and ensuring a seamless and compelling event experience.
Conclusion
This collaboration highlighted the power of strategic design in nonprofit fundraising. By creating visually impactful materials that resonated with the audience, Touched By ALS was able to significantly boost sponsorships and donations, furthering their mission to support those affected by ALS.
The success of this event sets a strong foundation for future fundraising efforts, and I am honored to have contributed to such a meaningful cause.
